Hall, Santa Asa, Cal. <br /> <br />June 18,1917, 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Board met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order bythe Clerk. <br /> <br />Present, Trustees Tubbs, McPhee, Greenleaf and Maryatt, <br /> <br />Absent, President Visel. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />President pro tom <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McPhee, <br />carried, Trustee Maryatt was <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />duly seconded by Greenleaf and <br />appointed President pro tem. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Minutes of June ~th read and approved. <br /> <br />~inutee <br /> <br />In Rs <br /> <br />Bush and Hermosa St. <br /> <br />&pproaohes <br /> <br />A communication from Attorney E.E.Xeech in reference to the con- <br />dition of street approaches at the Northwest corner of Hermosa <br />and Bush Sts. was read and on motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly <br />seconded by McPhee and carried, same was referred to the Street <br /> <br />Supt. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />CommuniCation Com.nieioner <br /> <br />of Immigration <br /> <br />W <br /> <br />A communication from Geo.L.Bell attorney for the State Commission <br />of Immigration in reference to Americanizing emigrant population <br />and offering suggestions for ~th of Suly celebrations, was read <br />and on motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Greenleaf andd <br /> <br />carried, same was referred to the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Pet it ion property <br /> <br />owners, E.4th St. <br /> <br /> 2O <br />A petition signed by property owners on E-at 4th St. beyond the <br />Santa Fe tracks requesting the Board to take the necessary steps <br />in requlrXng the P.E.R.R.CO. to extend their railway to the <br />East city limits as provided in their charter or forfeit their <br />franchise for same, was read and on motion of Trustee McPhee, dul~ <br />seconded by Greenleaf and carried, referred to the City Attorney <br /> <br />and report at next meeting. <br /> <br />In Rs <br /> <br />P.E. pavement,W 4th <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, <br />City Attorney Scott was instructed to notify the P.E.Ry. Co. in <br />reference to pavin ight of way on 4th St. from ROSS to Ar- <br />tesia, same to be repaired at once or City to take necessary <br />steps to compel the same ea~a copy of the above notice to be <br /> <br />filed with the City Clerk. <br /> <br />In Re <br />damage to <br /> <br />fire hydrant <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee and carried, <br />the City Attorney was instructed to take the necessary steps to <br />collect $52.5© from H.P. Farra~ the cost of damages to the fire <br /> <br />hydrant at 2nd and French St. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Public pl ay~rounds <br /> <br />The motion of Trustee MoPhee that the Board adopt the plans of <br />the Parent-Teachers Association in reference to the publioplay- <br />ground, that $150.00 be allowed out of the Advertisement Fund <br />towards the defraying of expense during the summer. To submit <br />the proposition of a public playground to the people at the ear- <br /> <br /> <br />
