Hall, Santa Asa, Cal. June 18,1917, 7:30 p.m. Board met in regular session. Meeting called to order bythe Clerk. Present, Trustees Tubbs, McPhee, Greenleaf and Maryatt, Absent, President Visel. In Re President pro tom On motion of Trustee McPhee, carried, Trustee Maryatt was # duly seconded by Greenleaf and appointed President pro tem. In Re Minutes of June ~th read and approved. ~inutee In Rs Bush and Hermosa St. &pproaohes A communication from Attorney E.E.Xeech in reference to the con- dition of street approaches at the Northwest corner of Hermosa and Bush Sts. was read and on motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by McPhee and carried, same was referred to the Street Supt. In Re CommuniCation Com.nieioner of Immigration W A communication from Geo.L.Bell attorney for the State Commission of Immigration in reference to Americanizing emigrant population and offering suggestions for ~th of Suly celebrations, was read and on motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Greenleaf andd carried, same was referred to the Chamber of Commerce. In Re Pet it ion property owners, E.4th St. 2O A petition signed by property owners on E-at 4th St. beyond the Santa Fe tracks requesting the Board to take the necessary steps in requlrXng the P.E.R.R.CO. to extend their railway to the East city limits as provided in their charter or forfeit their franchise for same, was read and on motion of Trustee McPhee, dul~ seconded by Greenleaf and carried, referred to the City Attorney and report at next meeting. In Rs P.E. pavement,W 4th On motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, City Attorney Scott was instructed to notify the P.E.Ry. Co. in reference to pavin ight of way on 4th St. from ROSS to Ar- tesia, same to be repaired at once or City to take necessary steps to compel the same ea~a copy of the above notice to be filed with the City Clerk. In Re damage to fire hydrant On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to take the necessary steps to collect $52.5© from H.P. Farra~ the cost of damages to the fire hydrant at 2nd and French St. In Re Public pl ay~rounds The motion of Trustee MoPhee that the Board adopt the plans of the Parent-Teachers Association in reference to the publioplay- ground, that $150.00 be allowed out of the Advertisement Fund towards the defraying of expense during the summer.
