City Hall~aata Aha, Cal. May 5th, 1919, ?;~0 p.m. Board met in regular session. Meeting called to order by President Mitchell. Trustees Tubbs, Chapman, Dale and Greenleaf answering Roll Call. Minutes of the meetings of April 21st and 2$th read and minutes of April reference to the election of Trustee Mitchell as President expiration of term to be 2nd meeting in April 1920. Presentation of Petitions,Remonstrances and Communications. 21st amended, in the Board amended to read In Re Communication C.of C. In Re Cal. Great Western Air Route In Re Application for Roger Shipley pool hall license In Re Parent-Teachers Association In He Committees continued Sn Re Permit, M.O .Hawk Opening of Halladay St. A communication from the Chamber of Commerce inviting the Board and City Arty. Scott to pattie&pate in a conference with the Board of Directors of the C of C and Merchants and Mfg. Association in reference to the Telephone situation. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Dale the invita- tion was accepted. A communication from W.H.Daum, Mgr. Cai.Great Western Inter- state Air route in reference to Aerial Transportation upon a large scale and amking the Board to hesitate about tying up with any combination; on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Oreenleaf same was ordered placed on file. The application of Roger Shipley for a license to d~nduot a pool hall at 1067 W.Sth St. was oh motion of Trustee Chapman, duly seconded by Tubbs, referred to a committee with power to act, Trustees Tubbs and Dale and Marshal Jernigan were appointed a~ such committee. A communication from Mrs.~.H.Stewart,President Parent-Teacher: Association 5th Bt. School in reference to sidewalk condition on West 5th Bt.was on motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Chapman, ordered filed. Committee Reports: The committees pertaining to petition for an alley in Block 9 Ross Addition; Home Tel.Co. Ordinance, and Abandoning an alle in Block'A'~alley,s Addition were continued. The committee consisting of Truste~Tuhbs,and Dale pertaining to the &pplicmtlon of M.O.Hawk for a permit to operate & machine for sharpening safety razor blades at the Southeast corner of 4th and Sycamore made a favorable report and on motion oz' Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Greenleaf the request was granted temporarily. # The committee consisting of Trustees Greenleaf and Tubhs reported favorable on the petition asking that Hall&day St. from Chestnut to McFadden be declared an open street, and on motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Tubbs, the request was granted.
