Ssmta ;ina, Cal. City H~ll Sept. 2, 1919. 7:30 ?. M. Board met in regular session. Meeting called to order by President Mitchell. Present: Trustees Tubbe, Chapman, Dale and Greenleaf. Minutes of Aug. 18 and 25 approved a~ read. In Re State Railroad Commission Hearing Telephone In Re Mexican Independence Celebration In Re Communication Stats Board of Health In Re Monthly Reports A communication from the State Railroad C~mmission in the matter of investigation into all the rates, charges, rules and regulations of the Pacific Tele- phone and Telegraph Company, giving notice that a hearing f~r same had been set for Sept. 15th, 1919 at 10 A.M. in the Court Room of the Commission, Flood Building, San Francisco. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Greenleaf, the matter was referred to the Chamber of Commerce. A petition signed by J. C. Nave, pastor Mexican M.E.Church and others, asking for permission to use explosives ( twenty-one shots) in their Mexican Independence at Birch Park at 6 A.M., Sept. in saluting the flag Celebration, to be held 16, 1919, also asking for the assistance of two mou~ted policemen. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, duly seconded by Chapman and carried, the matter was referred to the Police Committee with power to act, # A communication from the State Board of Health in reference to the eleventh annual conference of state, county and municipal health officers to be held at Riverside, Oct. 20th to 2~th inclusive, and urging that this city send representatives. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly 8 econded by Chapman and carried, Dr. J. I. Clark, Health Officer, and W. W. Chandler, Sanitary Inspector, were authorized to attend these meetings at the expense of the city. The Monthly reports of the Recorder, Marshall,Build- ing Inspector and Sanitary Inspector were referred to the Finance Committee on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Green]ear and carried.
