any incorporated city or town; and Whereas, by Ordinance <br /> No. 881, the board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, <br /> a municipal corporation of the fifth class, which <br /> ordinance was approved on the 2Vth day of Narch, 1922, <br /> called an election to be held in said city on the 24th <br /> day of April, 1922, in which said Board of Trustees, as <br /> the legislative branch of said municipality, ordered <br /> submitted to the electors of such municipality the <br /> question of whether or not the said new territory should <br /> be annexed to and incorporated in and made a part of <br /> such m~icipal corporation; and <br /> <br /> Where~s, such question was according to said ordina~n <br /> sub~.~i~ted at a special e~ection held for that purpose in <br /> said municipality on the 24th day of April, 19225 and <br /> <br /> Whereas, notice of said election was published in <br /> the Santa Ana Daily Evening Register, a newspaper printed <br /> in said city, at least once a week for a period of two <br /> weeks next preceding such election;.and <br /> <br /> W"nereas, said notice stated that it was proposed to <br /> incorporate the territory sought to be annexed as a part <br /> of such municipal corporation and did invite the electors <br /> of said city to vote upon such proposition by marking <br /> t~eir ballots "for annexation" or "against annexation"; <br /> an~ <br /> <br /> Whereas, in sa~d notice the territory sought to be <br /> annexed was generally described in such manner as to ap- <br /> prise the voters of the particular land sought to be an- <br /> nexed; and <br /> <br /> Whereas, by said ordinance said legislative body es- <br /> tablished and in said notice of election tLc~,~ Were <br /> dJsi~nated the voting precinct or precincts and the plaoe <br /> or places at which the polls would be opened in said city <br /> and said legislative body appointed the officers of such <br /> election, which, for each voting place were at least two <br /> judges and one inspector, each of Whom was a qualifie~ <br /> ~lector of such city$ and <br /> <br /> ~'hereas, the judges and inspectors of such election <br />did immediately upon the closin~ of the polls Count the <br />ballots, make up and certify the returns of the ballots <br />cast at their respective polling place as quickly as <br />practicable in the manner provided in the laws of this <br />state and did deposit all of said returns with the Clerk oi <br />said city; and <br /> <br /> Whereas, said legislative body did at the time pro- <br />vided for its regular meeting next after said returns were <br />filed with the Clerk of the said city, to-wit, on the <br /> <br /> <br />
