On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Green]ear and carried, the request was granted. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, du~y seconded by Tubbs and carried, the request of John Michelson for per- mission to remove a lar2e tree in the parking in front of his residence, 1625 N. Bush Street, was granted. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, the request of the Orange County Engineer- ing and Construction Company for an additional thirty days extension of time for finishing their contract fo: paving the streets adjoining tt-.e Spurgeon and Lincoln Schools, wss granted. City Engineer Knox reported that the ~etition to pave ~'est First Street from Flower to Baker represented seventy-four per cent of the frontage effected. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly 2nd by Greenleaf and carried, the petition was granted and the matter refer. red back to the City Engineer for further proceedings. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, street lights were ordered instal]ed in the following places: arc light on Fourth and Shelton incandescent light on Myrtle &treet, west of Flower. On motion of Trustee ~reen]eaf, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, action tal~en at the me~tin~ of ~Tay 8th, 1922, in reference to stdewall~bein2 constr~cted ad- Joining the curb on Cubbon Street between Main Street and Orange Avenue was rescinded. A petition signed by a large number of property owners on Sixth Street between Broadway and Baker Streets, asking that the above portion of street be improved with five inches of concrete with belt finish, under the 1911 and 1915 Improvement Acts, was read, and on motion of Trustee Green~eaf, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, same was referred to t?,e City Engineer for checking purooses. A communication from Grant ~. Lorraine, Secretary of the Southern Section ~eague of California Munlcipal~s. was read, also a copy of a resolution wbich was adopted by that body at a meeting held in this City May 4th,
