46S Santa Ana City Hall. March 28th, 1932. V:30 P.M. City Council met in regular adjourned session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Knox. Present: Trustees J.L. McBride, E.G. Warner, Paul B. Witmer, A.C. Hasenjaeger, John Knox. Absent: Trustees None. In Re Communication J~sus F. Barba. In Re Application W. M. Rice. tn Re Application A. Asher. In Re Application Charles E. Nugent. In Re Health Report. In Re Offer of ~paniSh-American War Veter.ans. A communication was read from Jesus F. Barba requesting employment or that the City buy his property located in Gloryetta. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and carried, the Clerk was instructed to write to Mr. Barba advising him that the City of Santa Ana has no funds with which to buy his property and are very sorry not to be able to help him out of his difficulties. ,, On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Witmer and car- ried, the application of W. M.. Rice to enlarge his present wrecking yard at 905 E. Second Street and erect a seven foot board fence around the enlargement, was referred to the Planning Commission. , On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by McBride and carried, the application of A. Asher for permission to hold a dissolution auction sale of his stock of jewelry at 210 W. Fourth Street during the middle of APril, was grant ed. On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by McBride and carried, the.application of Charles E. Nugent for permit to erect ~ Lath House at 2410 N. Main Street to be used for a Retail Nursery, was referred to the Planning Commis- sion. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warne? and car- ried, the m~o~nth~y report of the Health Department for the month of FeBruary, was referred to the Finance Committee. ,, On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and car- ried, the communication of the Spanish American ~ar Vet- erans offering ~their services to the City c~ Santa Aha~ in the~ event, of a calamity with which the authorities are unable to cope with, was accepted and the Clerk instructs to write a lette~ to them expressi~ng appreciation for their public spirited manner in offering assistance.
