481 Santa Arm City Hall. May 2nd, 1932. V:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Clerk. Present.' Trustees J.L. McBride, E.G. Warner, Paul B. Witmer, A.C. HasenJaeger. Absent: Trustees John Knox. In the absence of Mayor Knox, on motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by HasenJaeger and carried, Trustee Warner was appointed Mayor Pro Tern. Minutes of meetings of April 18th and 25th were approved as read. In Re Communication Juanita Burns. In Re Application Glenn H. Wells. In Re Meeting on Sewage Reclamation. In Re 0ommunication S.A.Municipal Employees Assn. In Re Communication Unemployed Assn. of Santa Aha. In Re Electric Sign. On motion of Trustee Witmer, seconded by McBride and car- ried, the comm, mfcation from the manager of Juanita Burns expressing appreciation in providing a reception for Miss Burns at the opening of the Bowl, was accepted and filed. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by McBride and carried, the application of Glenn H. Wells for a position as police officer for the City, in case of a vacancy, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Police Chief. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Hase~Jaeger and carried, the Clerk was instructed to inform the Orange County Farm Bureau that the date set for the committee meeting on May 9th for sewage reclamation in Orange County is satisfactory to the City COuncil. On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Witmer and carried, the communication from the Santa Ana Munlcipal Employees Assn. relative to the promptness of the Mo. State Life Insurance Company in paying claims, was accepted and filed. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by McBride and carried, the communication of The Unemployed Association of Santa Arm was accepted and filed, expressing their appreciation for the cooperation received in the holding of their Tag Day April 80th and endorsing the action of Hr. Robert Speed in giving employment in connection with a coupon book selling campaign. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Witmer and car- ried, the application of the santa Arm Electric Company for permission to erect an electric sign for F.A. Stewart a't ~10} N. Broadway, was granted under lupervision of the Electrical Inspector.
