486 In Re Resignation John Knox as Trustee. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the resignation of John Knox as Trustee of the City of Santa Ama was accepted with regrets. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by HasenJaeger and carried, the City Council adjourned. APPROVED: Santa Ama May 10th, City Rail. 1932. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayer Witmer. Present: Trustees J.L. McBride, E.G. Warner, A.C. HasenJaeger, Paul B. Witmer. Absent: Trustees None. Minutes of meetings of May 2nd and 9th were approved as read. In Re Appointment Trustee W. H. Penn. In Re Application Bruce Hays. In Re Short Course University of Sou. Calif. In Re Leave of Absence F.W. Howard~ Police Chief. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and car- ried, W. H. Penn was appointed as Trustee of the Second Ward to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of John Knox. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the application of Bruce Hays for the position as Custodian of the Bowers Memorial Museum, was referred to the Museum Committee. On motion carried, the Trustee McBride, seconded by HasenJaeger and communication from the Univer~ty of Souther~ California urging the City,s participation in the Fifth Annual Institute of Government (formerly Short Course) to be held at the University of Souther~ California from June 13th to 17th, 1932, was taken under advisement. ~n~ motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by HasenJaeger and carried, Floyd W. Howard, Chief of Police, was granted permission to leave the State of California for approxi- mately one month to take effect May 28th, 1~32.
