Organization for the use <br /> of Birch Park, Decoration Day, May 30th, from 2 to 4 P.M.~ <br /> was granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by McBride and car- <br /> ried, the demand of B. Uttley in amount of $1§,925.O0 for <br /> damages and personal injuries received February 28th, <br /> while riding in an automobile and caused by the dip in <br /> the street at Tenth and B~oadway, was referred to the <br /> City Attorney. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by McBride and car- <br /> ried, the resignation of the present Citizens Unemploy- <br /> ment Committee was accepted and the Chair authorized to <br /> appoint successors to the cormnittee with the approval cf <br /> the Council. The following resolution was adopted <br /> expressing the gratitude of the City Council: <br /> <br /> Resolved, first,that we express the gratitude of the <br />City Council for the work that has been done during the <br />past months by the Unemployment Committee, and particu- <br />-larly for the service rendered by its chairman, Hr.. <br />Herbert Rankin, who gave of his time and of his money, <br />unstintingly, to make the work a success; <br /> That we know that they have had difficult propositions <br /> to meet, end they have met them with fortitude and with <br /> wisdom, and have given as good aid as their income could <br /> afford. <br /> We accept the change in the plan and the change of per- <br />· sonnel in the committee with regret, but acquiesce in the <br />wisdom that is show in their suggested program, and in <br />harmony with that suggestion, we would request our chair- <br />man to make appointment of five people on such committee. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded b~ Penn and <br /> carried, the request of the Pa~ents-Teachers Association <br /> for a donation cf $?§O.O0-to be given towards Smmmer <br /> grounds for this year, was denied. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn and <br /> tied, the matter of trimming trees overhanging streets <br /> and sidewalks was referred to the Forestry Board for <br /> investigation and report back. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the request of Henry Rurup for an adjustm-nt on the <br />size of the pipeline installed on his property located <br />on the west side of Flower Street end north of Ocean Ave- <br />nue was referred to Street Superintendent and the Water <br /> <br /> <br />
