Ballcster. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 962 <br /> <br />Regulating Taxicabs. <br /> <br />Approved; <br /> <br />~aYor of -~he'City~ 6f santa <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Penn and <br />carried, the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids <br />for the sale of the telephone franchise for a period of <br />fifty years, bids to be opened August 29th, 1952. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Hasenjaeger and <br />carried, the resignation of A. P. Bowden as police office~ <br />for the City to become effective August 1st, was accepted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and car- <br />ried, Franklin L. Grouard and Joseph Ryan were appointed <br />police officers of the City to take effect August 1st. <br /> <br />On motion of <br /> <br /> Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Penn and <br />carried, the City Attorney was instructed to file for <br />Santa Ana'~ portion of water rights in the Santa Aha <br />Canyon. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and car- <br />ried, the application of John H. Wilson for a permit to <br />conduct a taxicab business was referred to a committee <br />to decide if the necessity exists for an additional taxi- <br />cab business. Trustees Hasenjaeger, Warner and the C~ y <br />Attorney were appointed as the committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Penn and <br />carried, the property at the southwest corner of First <br />and Franklin Streets was ordered posted for Neighborhood <br />Business Zone and Special Uses and the hearing date set <br />August 1st, 195Z, in accordance with the application of <br />Vicente N. Ballester for permission to construct a store <br />building and service station. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />An Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An Ordinance regulating and licensing the business <br />of carrying passengers for hire in motor vehicles in the <br />City of Santa Arm." <br /> <br />was finally read, considered, designated Ordinance No. <br />982 and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees E.G. Warner, w.H. Penn, <br /> A.C. Hasenjaeger, Paul B. Witmer. <br /> <br /> Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees J.L.
