Santa Aha City Hall. <br /> <br />November 6th, 1933. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Witmer. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees A.F. LeGaye, E.G. Warner, <br /> W.H. Penn, Paul B. Witmer. <br /> <br /> Absent: True.tee A.C. Hasenjaeger. <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br />of meetings of October 16th, 23rd <br /> and 30th were approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication of <br /> <br />State Assn of Calif. <br /> <br />Architects. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communi~tion <br /> <br />S. A. City Schools. <br /> <br />In Re. <br /> <br />Protest of <br /> <br />Used Furniture Dealers. <br /> <br />In ~e <br /> <br />Delinquencies under <br /> <br />Improvement Bond Act of 1915. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by LeGaye and carried <br />the communication from The State Association of Californi, <br />A~chitects,with reference to Resolution adopted by the <br />Association requesting that only State licensed architect.. <br />be commissioned to furnish architectural services for all <br />future public buildings and to use local architects to <br />relieve the unemployment situation, was received and file¢ <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ried, the communication of the Santa Ana City Schools, <br />acknowledging receipt of the City's bid on the rental of <br />the old Willard School Building on N. Main Street and <br />that action had been deferred on said bid, was received <br />and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ried, the protest of certain new and used Furniture <br />Dealers against the business being conducted and adver- <br />tised by J. S. Metzgar, 2345 Spurgeon Street, and licensee <br />in the residential district, was referred to the City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />A communication was read from the Council of the City of <br />Burbank and the city of Lakeport with reference to the <br />late decision of the Supreme Court of this State, rendere( <br />in the case of American Company vs. City of Lakeport <br />whereby the City must meet the delinquencies in the <br />tion Fund out of available moneys that may be in the <br />General Fund if property owners fail to pay their assess- <br />ment to meet payment of interest and principal of bonds <br />under the Improvement Bond Act of 19~5. <br /> <br />On motion of of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by Warner and <br />carried, the City Attorney was instructed to attend meet- <br />lng of City Attorneys to be held in Los Angeles, at 12:00 <br />o'clock Noon at the Alexander Hotel to discuss the above <br />matter and the sum of $50.00 was authorized to employ <br />special counsel for a rehearing, before the Supreme Court. <br /> <br /> <br />
