Santa Aha City Hall. March ?th, 193~. V ~1:~0 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Witmer. Present: Tx~Astees A.F. LeGaye, E.G. Warner, W.H. Penn, A.O. EasenJaeger, Paul B. Witmer. Absent: Trustees None. Minutes of ~eetlngs of' February BOth and B?th were approved as read. In Re Communication League of Cai. Municipalities. In Re Hearing on Telephone Franchise. In Re Settlement at Municipal Bowl. In Re Application E. B. Trickey.. In Re Application T. M. Purdom. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn and carried~ the comm,m~cation from R. Earl Ruddy, Secretary of the League of California Muncipalities was received and filed and the Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Rudd that the Council have endorsed Assembly Bill No. 1172 and are opposed to the suggested compromise of one-fourth cent of the gasoline tax money and will compromise only as a last resort. Copy of letter was ordered sent to Mr. Hotlim Thompson, City Manager at Berkeley. On motion of Trustee I/asenJaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the Notice of HearLug before the Railroad Com- mission of the State of California in the Matter of the Application of Southern California Telephone Company for April BOth, 193~, at 10:00 A.M. in the C~urt Room of the Co~nission in Los Angeles, was taken under advisement. On motion of Trustee Warner, sec mded by Penn and carried 'the communication from DeWitt Dudley, farmer City Enginee~ relative to the settlement that has taken place in the bleachers in the Municipal Bowl, was referred to the City Engineer~ On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the application of E. B. Trickey for permission to erect an 8'x lB~ glass house for the purpose of sellin flowers and plants at the northeast corner of First and Wright Streets, was referred to the Planning Co~ission. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Wa~ner and carried, the application of T. M. Fardom for permission to conduct a real estate office in his home at 151~ No. Broadway, was referred to the Planning Commission. On motion of Trustee HasenJaege~, seconded by Warner and carried, the application of T. M. Pu~dom was denied on recommendation of the Planning Commission.
