A Resolution adopted .by the Santa Aha Public Library, was presented, declaring that an emergency exists necessitat- ing the construction amd repair of the Santa Aha Public Library and on motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the Mayor and Clerk were instructed sign an agreement with William Rohrbacher and the Board Trustees of the Santa Aha Public Library for the repair of the Library at a total cost not exceeding $1500.00. In Re Agreement with Sou. Calif. Edison Co. In Re Petition for Amendment of Ord. #662 to Legalize Beer & Wine. 0n motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by HasenJaeger and carried, the Mayor and Clerk were instructed to sign an agreement with the Southern California Edison Company, Ltd., covering the replacement of gas driven engines with electrically driven motors at the Pumping Plant as set- forth in the following proposal: "Whereas, Southern California Edison Company, Ltd. has proposed to the City of Santa Aha that the present gas engines used for the pumping of the Cityts water supply, be replaced with electrically driven motors to be used the same purpose, and in said proposal has offered to remove said gas engines and to set up all the necessary equipment to modernize said plant, and said proposal fur- ther sets forth that Southern California Edison Company Ltd. in addAtion to the electrical pumping equipment will pay the City of SantaAna the sum of $2800.00 for said gas engines; and Whereas, by the replacement of said gas driven engines with electrically driven motors and the exclusive use of electricity for pumping purposes, the City of Santa Aha will effect a saving of approximately $4000.00 per annum on the energy now being purchased from the Southern Cali- fornia Edisc~ Company Ltd., and will effect further econo~ mies in operating cce~s at the Bristol Street Plant. Now, Therefore, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha does hereby resolve as follows: That it is for the best interests of the City of Santa Aha that the gas engines now being used for the pumping of the Cityts water supply, be replaced with electrically driven motors to be used for the same purpose, and that said City of Santa Aha accept the proposal of Southern California Edison Company Ltd. for the replacement of said gas engines and the installation of electrically driven motors, said electrically driven motors to become the property of the City of Santa Aha without cost to said City of Santa Aha. Be It Further Resolved, that the City of Santa Aha accept the ccmpleted installation of electric pumping equipemtn and the sum of Twenty-five Hundred(S2500.00) Dollars for said gas engines, and the Mayor and City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized and directed to execute a Bill of Sale conveying title in and to said gas engines to Southern California Edison Company, Ltd. Be It Further Resolved,that the City Engineer be autho- rized and directed to supervise the installation by Southern California Edison Company, Ltd. of the electri- cally driven pumping units to replace said gas engines."
