$512.64 upon execution of agreement. <br /> 512.64 September 13th, 1933. <br /> 512.64 December 13th, 1933. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Agreement for <br /> <br />Repair of Public Library. <br /> <br />A Resolution adopted .by the Santa Aha Public Library, was <br />presented, declaring that an emergency exists necessitat- <br />ing the construction amd repair of the Santa Aha Public <br /> <br />Library and on motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by <br /> <br />Warner and carried, the Mayor and Clerk were instructed <br />sign an agreement with William Rohrbacher and the Board <br />Trustees of the Santa Aha Public Library for the repair <br />of the Library at a total cost not exceeding $1500.00. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Agreement with <br /> <br />Sou. Edison Co. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petition for <br /> <br />Amendment of Ord. #662 <br /> <br />to Legalize Beer & Wine. <br /> <br />0n motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by HasenJaeger and <br />carried, the Mayor and Clerk were instructed to sign an <br /> <br />agreement with the Southern California Edison Company, <br /> <br />Ltd., covering the replacement of gas driven engines with <br /> <br />electrically driven motors at the Pumping Plant as set- <br /> <br />forth in the following proposal: <br /> <br /> "Whereas, Southern California Edison Company, Ltd. has <br />proposed to the City of Santa Aha that the present gas <br />engines used for the pumping of the Cityts water supply, <br />be replaced with electrically driven motors to be used <br />the same purpose, and in said proposal has offered to <br />remove said gas engines and to set up all the necessary <br />equipment to modernize said plant, and said proposal fur- <br />ther sets forth that Southern California Edison Company <br />Ltd. in addAtion to the electrical pumping equipment will <br />pay the City of SantaAna the sum of $2800.00 for said gas <br />engines; and <br /> Whereas, by the replacement of said gas driven engines <br />with electrically driven motors and the exclusive use of <br />electricity for pumping purposes, the City of Santa Aha <br />will effect a saving of approximately $4000.00 per annum <br />on the energy now being purchased from the Southern Cali- <br />fornia Edisc~ Company Ltd., and will effect further econo~ <br />mies in operating cce~s at the Bristol Street Plant. <br /> Now, Therefore, the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> Aha does hereby resolve as follows: <br /> That it is for the best interests of the City of Santa <br />Aha that the gas engines now being used for the pumping <br />of the Cityts water supply, be replaced with electrically <br />driven motors to be used for the same purpose, and that <br />said City of Santa Aha accept the proposal of Southern <br />California Edison Company Ltd. for the replacement of said <br />gas engines and the installation of electrically driven <br />motors, said electrically driven motors to become the <br />property of the City of Santa Aha without cost to said <br />City of Santa Aha. <br /> Be It Further Resolved, that the City of Santa Aha <br />accept the ccmpleted installation of electric pumping <br />equipemtn and the sum of Twenty-five Hundred(S2500.00) <br />Dollars for said gas engines, and the Mayor and City Clerk <br />of said City are hereby authorized and directed to execute <br />a Bill of Sale conveying title in and to said gas engines <br />to Southern California Edison Company, Ltd. <br /> Be It Further Resolved,that the City Engineer be autho- <br /> rized and directed to supervise the installation by <br /> Southern California Edison Company, Ltd. of the electri- <br /> cally driven pumping units to replace said gas engines." <br /> <br />PetitiOns signe~ by approximately S600 registered quali- <br /> <br />fied electors of the City of Santa Aha requesting the <br /> <br />Council to amend Section 1 of 0~dinance No. 862 to permit <br /> <br />the manufacture, sale, storage or transportation of 3.2 <br /> <br />per cent beer or wine, at this meeting or submit said <br /> <br />Ordinance to the vote of the people at a special election <br /> <br />were presented.
