Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />May 18th, 1933. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Witmer. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees A.F. LeGaye, E.G. Warner, <br />W.H. Penn, A.C. Hasenjaeger, Paul B. Witmer. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Minutes of meetings of May 1st, 5th and 8th <br /> were approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Appli6ations <br /> <br />to Sell Beer & Wine. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Betty Ross Coleman. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Lambert & Brothers. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Harry E. Rinehart. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Electric Signs. <br /> <br />In He <br /> <br />Protest Against <br /> <br />Set-back Line--N.Ross St. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by HasenJaeger and <br />tied, applications to sell beer and wine at places of <br />business, were received and filed as follows: <br /> <br />A. H. Temple <br />George A. Demetriou <br />R. E. Evans <br />Sontag Drug Stores Ltd. <br /> <br />1901 W. 5th Street <br />320 E. 4th Street <br />316 E. 5th Street <br />ll4 E. 4th Street. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Penn and <br />carried, the application of Betty Ross Coleman for permis- <br />sion to conduct a dressmaking shop in her home at 1502 N. <br />Flower Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn and <br /> <br />carried, the application of Emory B. Lambert and H. N. <br />Brothers, Jr. for a permit to conduct a Garage at 517 W. <br /> <br />Seventeenth Street, was referred to Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by LeGaye and <br />carried, the application of Harry E. Rinehart for a per- <br />mit to conduct a glass hot house for flowers at 1415 E. <br />First Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />0~ motion of Trustee Penn, <br />applications of Electrical <br /> <br />seconded by Warner and carried <br />Contractors for permission to <br /> <br />hang electric signs, were granted under supervision of <br /> <br />the Electrical Inspectors, <br /> <br />Dr. Harry C. Clark <br />Bob Murphy Garage <br />Dr. F.W. Wallace <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />4054 N. Broadway <br />201 N. Main St. <br />ll4 E. 4th St. <br /> <br />A protest was presented signed by property owners with <br />frontage of §$3 feet on N. Ross Street between First and <br />Fifth Street against the establishment of ~ five foot <br />set-ba~ line. On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconds <br />by LeGaye and carried, in view of the fact that protest <br />with signatures covering 583 feet frontage against estab- <br />lishment of set back line and petition with signatures <br />covering 3V§ feet frontage favoring set back line of five <br /> <br /> <br />
