No. 2~56 <br /> <br />Diversion of Gas Tax. <br /> <br />month and agreeing <br />with the privilege <br /> <br />feet on North Ross Street between First and Fifth Street, <br />the hearing was continued for one week, May 22nd, 1933. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ried, the applicgtion of Jesus Belarde for permission to <br />conduct a pool hall at 903 E. Fourth Street, was denied <br />on recommendation of the Chief of Police and for the rea- <br />son that a protest with twenty-one signatures of residents <br />in the vicinity was presented requesting the Council to <br />refrain from granting permit. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Warner and <br />carried, the Mayor and Clerk were instructed to sign an <br />agreement with Thomas Johnson covering rental of the City <br /> <br />Dump for a period of two years for the sum of $25.00 per <br /> to keep said dump in good condition <br /> to salvage all trash, etc. <br /> <br />The motion of Trustee Penn to adopt an Ordinance to pro- <br />hibit interference with the reception of radio broadcast <br />signals, and repealing Ordinance No. @~8 adopted by the <br />Council on June 17th, 1929, was lost for lack of a second. <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by HasenJaeger and <br />carried, it was decided to allow the Attorney for the <br />doctors and dentists one more week to appear at the Coun- <br />cil meeting to protest or suggest changes in the Ordi- <br />nance prohibiting interference with the reception of <br />radio broadcast signals, and if the Attorney does not <br />appear in their defense, Ordinance will be adopted At <br />said meeting without further discussion. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ried, the recommendation of the Chief of Police, wit h the <br />sanction of the Police Commissioner, was accepted snd <br />Joseph H. Ryan was dismissed from his duties as Police <br />Officer of the City of Santa Ana, as of May 2nd, 1933. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />A Resolution was introduced as follows: <br /> <br /> "That Whereas, there was pending before the State <br />Legislature, Assembly Bill ~o. llV2, pertaining to the <br />diversion of the Gasoline Tax to the different cities <br />throughout the State of California; a~nd <br /> Whereas, Send.tot N. T. Edwards, o~ Orange County, was <br />contacted concerning the passage of said'bill; and <br /> Whereas, a c~nmunication was received from Senator <br />N.T. Edwards, advising that he could not give his support <br />to said Bill, but favored another plan concerning said <br />Gasoline Tax; and <br /> Whereas, the officials of the different cities of Oran <br />County have heretofore adopted a resolution concerning <br />the diversion of the Gasoline Tax to the different cities <br />throughout Orange County; and <br /> <br /> <br />
