Water District. <br /> <br />Resolutions were presented adopted by the Ministerial <br />Association and the California Congress of Parents and <br />Teachers opposing the operation of the so-called "Tango" <br />game in Santa Ana and commending the Council on its <br />attitude of opposition on this form of gambling. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ried, the application of James Bennett to operate a game <br />of skill and science, was denied on recommendation of the <br />Police Connnis s ioner. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by Warner and car- <br />ried, the Resolution adopted by the Kiwanis Club of Santa <br />Ana endorsing the efforts of the City Council to take <br />advantage of the present opportunity of building a new <br />City Hall upon the former cite under the provisions of <br />the Public Works Act of the Federal Government, was <br />received and fi~ed~ <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried <br />the applications of Kent Drysdale and Clifford S. Wright <br />to act as relief taxicab drivers, were approved for city <br />license. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ried, Mark McWhorter and J. B. Stephenson were appointed <br />special police officers to work on school crossing detail <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried <br />the application of W. Doctolero for the transfer of his <br />pool hall license from 2106 W. Fifth Street to 2002 W. <br />Fifth Street, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ried, the application of ?ay'n Takit Stores Company to <br />sell "off-sale" legal beverages at 502 W. Fourth Street~ <br />was granted with the provision that license will be <br />revocable if the firm does not comply with the Ordinance <br />regulating said business. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried <br />the financial statements of the ~,fetropolitan Water Dis- <br />trict as of June 30th, 1933, together with Statement No. <br />8 showing the amount of water stored by the District and <br />used by member cities thereof, were received and filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
