No. ~86 <br /> <br />Employees of City. <br /> <br />On motion of <br />carried, the <br />granting the <br /> <br />Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Warner a~ <br /> <br />easement from the Associated Oil Company <br />City of Santa Ana the right to construct, <br /> <br />operate and maintain a sewer line or lines, known as the <br />Joint Outfall Sewer, across and upon a certain parcel of <br />land, was accepted and t~he Clerk instructed to have the <br />easement recorded. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried <br />the matter with reference to repealing a portion of Ordi- <br />nance No. 598 applying to the bond of contractors for <br />cement sidewalk and curbing, was referred to the City <br />Attorney for investigation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, secondod by Hasenjaeger and <br />carried, the application of the American Legion Auxiliary <br />for permission to conduct their annual drive to sell <br />paper poppies on the streets, May 26th, 1934, was granted. <br />,, <br /> <br />M~s. Roy Corry, President of the National Milk Producers <br />Association, appeared before the Cottucil stating that <br />ranchers selling poultry, dairy products and ranch pro- <br />ducts should not be charged a city license to mell their <br />produce, was requested to take the ~tter up with the <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br />O~ motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn ar~l <br />carried, the application ef Rev. J. C. Mulcahy and Wife <br />for permission to preach the Gospel daily from 2:00 to <br />3:00 P.M., at the Bandstand in Birch Park, was denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by Warner and car- <br />ried, the following Resolution was adopted: <br /> <br /> "THA~ WHEREAS unemployement among the residents of our <br /> City is creating a heavy burden for the tax payes thereof <br /> and that this burden will continue to grow unless our <br /> citizens procure employm~ut; <br /> THAT WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha employs a large <br />number of persons both male and female and such employ- <br />ment carries a wage sufficient to reasonably provide for <br />it's employees and their dependents, <br /> THAT WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Board of Trustees <br /> of the City of Santa Ana to provide as many ~obs as possi- <br /> ble for those seeking employment, <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a Special Committee <br /> be appointed by the Mayor to ascertain if there are any <br /> full time employees of said City whose dependents are <br /> gainfully employed elsewhere end make report to said <br /> Board of Trustees one week from to-night with appropriate <br /> re com~enda tion s." <br /> <br /> The resolution was read, considered, designated R <br /> <br /> No. 2386 and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees A.F.
