On motion of carried, the granting the Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Warner a~ easement from the Associated Oil Company City of Santa Ana the right to construct, operate and maintain a sewer line or lines, known as the Joint Outfall Sewer, across and upon a certain parcel of land, was accepted and t~he Clerk instructed to have the easement recorded. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried the matter with reference to repealing a portion of Ordi- nance No. 598 applying to the bond of contractors for cement sidewalk and curbing, was referred to the City Attorney for investigation. On motion of Trustee Penn, secondod by Hasenjaeger and carried, the application of the American Legion Auxiliary for permission to conduct their annual drive to sell paper poppies on the streets, May 26th, 1934, was granted. ,, M~s. Roy Corry, President of the National Milk Producers Association, appeared before the Cottucil stating that ranchers selling poultry, dairy products and ranch pro- ducts should not be charged a city license to mell their produce, was requested to take the ~tter up with the City Attorney. O~ motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn ar~l carried, the application ef Rev. J. C. Mulcahy and Wife for permission to preach the Gospel daily from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M., at the Bandstand in Birch Park, was denied. On motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by Warner and car- ried, the following Resolution was adopted: "THA~ WHEREAS unemployement among the residents of our City is creating a heavy burden for the tax payes thereof and that this burden will continue to grow unless our citizens procure employm~ut; THAT WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha employs a large number of persons both male and female and such employ- ment carries a wage sufficient to reasonably provide for it's employees and their dependents, THAT WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana to provide as many ~obs as possi- ble for those seeking employment, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a Special Committee be appointed by the Mayor to ascertain if there are any full time employees of said City whose dependents are gainfully employed elsewhere end make report to said Board of Trustees one week from to-night with appropriate re com~enda tion s." The resolution was read, considered, designated R No. 2386 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees A.F. LeGaye, E.G. Warner, W.H. Penn, A.C. Hasenjaeger, Paul B. Witmer.
