F. LeGaye, E. G. Warner, <br /> W. H. Penn, Paul.B. Witmer. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees A. C. Hasenjaeger. <br /> <br />Minutes of meetings of May 7th and 14th were <br /> approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application of <br /> <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Dance Hall of <br /> <br />Johnson & Shoen. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Closing Portion <br /> <br />of Alley bet. Main & Sycamore. <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />May 21st, 1934. 7:30 P.~. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by LeGaye and carried, <br />the application of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for per- <br />mission to conduct their annual drive to sell poppies on <br />the streets, May 26th, was granted. <br /> <br />Affidavits signed by E. A. Davidson and others, were file~ <br />stating the conditions existing in the vicinity of the <br />dance hall being conducted by Johnson and Shoen at 606 W. <br />Fourth Street and requesting the Council to abate the <br />nuisance. Communication of Morris Cain, attorney for Mr. <br />Johnson, call.ing attention to the communications of resi- <br />dents in the vi=inity ~f. the dance hall favoring it, and <br /> <br />stating that the Council did not have <br />the license of Johnson and Shoen, was <br />No action was taken on the affidavits <br />Trustee Warner was authorized to have <br /> <br />the right to revoke <br />presented. <br />and communications. <br />"No Parking" signs <br /> <br />posted in front of the bungalow court at 616 W. Fourth <br /> <br />Street and in front of apartments at Fourth and Patton Sts <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried, <br />and on recommendatioh of the City Engine~r~ and Fire Chief <br />the application of Jules W. Markel for permission to close <br />the alley between Main Street for a distance of about 200 <br />feet West behind the First National Bank for a period of <br />60 days during the construction of the Reliance Title <br />Company Building on Main Street. <br /> <br /> <br />
