On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the monthly reports of the city officers for the month of May, were referred to the Finance Committee. On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Warner and carried, the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants accord- lng to demands audited by the Finance Committee. On motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by LeGaye and carried, the application of W. B. McNary to use the store building at 1248 S. Main Street for a garage, was denied on recommendation of the Planning Commission not to have the property posted for spe~cial uses. ,, A Resolution was introduced engaging the services of the League of California Municipalities for the compilation of data, and the preparation of material, for presenta- tion to The President of the United States and The Con- gress of the United States, in support of an application for a public works program instead of a direct relief program and also the preparation of a further study of State Gasoline Tax allocation to the City of Santa Ana. The resolution was read, considered, designated Resolu- tion No. 2388 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees A. F. LeGaye, E. G. Warner, A. C. Hasenjaeger, Paul B. Witmer. Noes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustee W. H. Penn. ,, On motion of Trustee Legate, seconded by Namer and car- ried, the City Council endorsed the resolutions adopted by the Orange County League of Municipalities with ref- erence to the charge being made by the Cbunty of Orange for feeding city prisoners, amendment to by-laws ~ the Orange County League of Municipalities and also State gasoline tax allocation. On motion of Trustee Warner, Penn. seconded by LeGaye and car- tied, the resignation ~ Trustee A. C. Hasenjaeger of the Fifth Ward, was accepted with regrets and the Clerk instructed to write a letter Of appreciation for the valuable services rendered to the City of Santa Ans.
