Bruns was appointed Trus tee of the Fifth Ward to fill the vacancy made by Mr. A. C. Hasenj aeger, s resignation. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- ried, the City Council adjourned to Monday, June llth, 1934, at 7:30 P.M., in the Cottu~l Chamber. C% y/Clerk. Santa Ans June llth, City Hall. 1934. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in reEular adjourned session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Witmer. Present: Trustees A. F. LeGaye, E. G. Warner, Pluzmner~W. Bruns, Paul B. Witmer. Absent: Trustee W. H. Penn. In Re Communic a l:ion Fred M. Young. In Re Summer Playgrounds under Supervision of S.E.H.A. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- ~ied, the communication of Fred M. Young endorsing an editorial in the Santa Ana Register and extending his thanks to the Council for cutting the Cityrs expenses thirty per cent, was received and the Clerk instructed to write a letter of appr$ciation to Mr. Fred M. Young with reference to the editorial printed. A communication was read from the SuPerintendent of the Santa Ana City Schools stating that the State Emergency Relief Administration had delegated the High School Dis- tricts of the State the responsibility of organizing the summer recreation program. The S.E.R.A. paying $2981.00 for relief wages, the Board of Education agreeing to pay $580.00 for supervision and equipment and requesting the ~um of $250.00 from the City of Santa Aha for eonsumable supplies. On motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by Warner and carried, the communication of the Santa City Schools was received and filed for further study.
