APPROVED: of the of Street. as the # of January, 1936, was referred to the City Auditor. . ~motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton, authorizing the Chair to appoint a committee to take up the matter of Turf Club Betting Agencies recently established in the City and to investigate the facts as to the legality of Agencies and report back, was amended on motion of Trustee Smith, sec- onded by Penn, that the committee confer with other municipal ities on the control and regulation of Turf Club Betting Agencies. The amendment and motion carried, Trustee Bruns, Chief of Police and City Attorney were appointed as the committee. . On motion of T~ustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to proceed with W.P.A. Pro- Ject No. 2561 covering storm d~ain on W. Seventeenth Street. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the Chair was authorized to appoint a representative to acquire the right-cf-way for the storm drain on W. Seventeent~ Trustee Smith and the City Engineer were appointed committee. The motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton, to receive and file the report of the City Auditor on the 1/4 cent gas tax fund for improvement of Streets of Major Importance and of State Highways in the City of Santa Ana, was amended by the motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn, to receive and refer the report of the City Auditor on the 1/4 cent gas tax fund to the Finance Committee, and carried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Joseph P. Smith, Plummet W. Bruns, W.H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None. Noes, # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, all of the correspondence with reference to the 1/4 Cent Gas Tax Fund is to be handled and filed in the Clerk's office and all receipts and disbursemente pertaining thereto be handled by the City Auditor. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the City Council adjourned to Monday, February 24th, 1956, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber. d CSty Clerk.
