Lind. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Improvement of <br /> <br />~,~unicipal Bowl. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Security Benefit Assn. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Bmith and carried, <br /> the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- <br /> ties relative to the dinner meeting to be held at 6:30 P.M., <br /> at the Elks Club, Anaheim, February 2?th, 1936, was received <br /> and filed and all members of the Council were urged to attend <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruno and carried, <br />the following portion of minute order adopted February l?th, <br />1936, was ordered stricken from the minutee: "all of the <br />correspondence with reference to the 1/~ Cent Gas Tax Fund <br />is to be handled and 'filed in the Clerkts offiOe#. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Brune and carried, <br />the communication of the Division of Highway stating that <br />Work Order 8?ZMC3 in the amount of $24,326.?? has been issued <br />to finance the construction under a State contract of the <br />South Main Street improvement and charged against Santa Ana's <br />1/4-cent allocation to State highways, was referred to the <br />City Engineer. <br /> <br />Messrs~ W. H. Spurgeon, Victor Walker and A. J. McFadden <br />appeared before the Council requesting that the MuniCipal <br />Bowl be used exclusively for baseball and football games and <br />not for motorcycle races~and midget auto races. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of Abet E. Lind to lease the Municipal Bowl <br />one night each week for midget automobile races and maintain <br />the track without cost to the City, was denied. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and oar~ied, <br /> <br />a committee was ordered appointed to confer with Messrs. <br />Spurgeon, Walker and McFadden relative to re-turfing and con- <br />ditioning the Municipal Bowl. Trustee Laytcn, B~ns and <br />Penn were appointed as the committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the <br />application of the Security Benefit Association for a permit <br />to conduct public dances at the Palm Ballroom, Third and Ross <br />Streete, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief <br />for investigation. <br /> <br /> <br />
