E. Jemison to conduct a bowling alley <br />at 406 W. Fourth Street, was granted on recommendation of the <br />Police Commissioner and Chief. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />The committee appointed to investigate the application of the <br />Security Benefit Association for a permit to conduct public <br />dances at Third and Ross Street, was granted more ti~e. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the following Minute Resolution was adopted: <br /> <br /> Resolved, That this City Council recommends such action by <br />the Railroad Commission of the State of California as will <br />tend to reduce the rates or fares on, or will improve or <br />increase the automobile bus or stage or o~her transportation <br />facilities serving this community, and fUrther urge and <br />recommend that all interested parties present to the <br />Commission, at the hearings to be held in this City on the <br />applications of the Santa Fe Railroad, all local evidence <br />concerning the public necessity for such addiitonal fran- <br />chises, to the end that the public necessity for such service <br />may be made known to the Railroad Commission, and the best' <br />interests of this community may be served. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />The application of Arthur Gomez to conduct a general repair <br />shop at 1326 Logan Street, was withdrawn according to report <br />of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the following Minute Resolution was adopted: That this <br />Council hereby declares that it will follow the policy of <br />refusing the use of the Municipal Bowl for any activity <br />which unduly in~ures the turf thereof or which creates an <br /> <br /> <br />
