The motion of Trustee Penn that the recommendation of the Planning Commission to extend the business zone on North Broadway to the intersection of Tenth and Broadway be refer- red to a committee to confer with the Commission, was lost for lack of a second. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission to extend the busi- ness zone on North Broadway to the intersection of Tenth and Broadway,was taken under advisement and cooperate With the Commission. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana providing for the imprisonment of City prisoners in the County Jail of Orange County" was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1028 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Joseph P. Smith, Plummet W. Bruns, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Noes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None. # On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, action was deferred on the adoption of the Ordinance regulat- ing the use of public highways within the City of Santa Aha, until written approval is received by the City Attorney from the State Highway Department. The motion of Trustee Smith that the Council proceed to acquire the Tiede property at the northwest corner of Flower and Washington Avenue, for park purposes, was lost for lack of a second. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the present option on the Tiede property at the northwest cot. ncr of Flower and Washington Avenue, be allowed to expire, if the City has any interest in the option.
