The City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Joseph P. Smith, Plummet W. Bruns, <br />W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, <br />further reading of the Minutes of Meetingof March <br />2nd, 1936, was dispensed with on motion of Trustee <br />Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communic at i on <br /> <br />SrA. Goetz. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Dr. Horace W. <br /> <br />Leecing. <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />~Larch 16th, 1936. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of the Santa Ana Realty Board requesting <br />that the main avenues of ingress and egress to Santa Ana be <br />guarded against such businesses as auto wrecking yard, used <br /> <br />parts, lumber yards, etc., <br />Commission. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, <br />the communication of Lura A. <br /> <br />was referred to the Planning <br /> <br />seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> <br /> Schofield requesting the Council <br /> <br />to refuse to license any firm conducting betting or gambling <br />on horse racing in the City, was received and the Clerk was <br /> <br /> acknowledge the communication and advise that <br /> in the hands of the City Attorney and the Chief <br /> <br />instructed to <br />the matter is <br />of Police. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith~ s$ccnded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of James M. Short, Chirman Advisory Board, <br />for a free permit to give a public dance in the Palm Dance <br />Hall, March 25th, 1936, ~or the benefit of Townsend Club No. <br />2, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief with <br />power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of R. D. Goetz to erect a produce stand on <br />the east side of South Main Street, three lots south of Goetz <br />Avenue, was referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On recommendation cf the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application <br />of R. D. Goetz to erect produce stand, was denied. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Dr. Horace W. Leecing for a permit to con- <br />struct a one story office building at 843 N, Broadway, was <br />referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the property at <br />843 N. Broadway was ordered posted for special uses and the <br />~oint hearing date set March 23rd, 1936, in accordance with <br /> <br /> <br />
