On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution approving Second Amendment to the Loan and Grant Agreement between the City of Santa Ana, Orange Couyty, California, and the United States of America, and authorizing its execution." was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2469 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Plummer W. Bruns, JoKeph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Noes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the report of the Metropolitan Water District on the work activities for the month of February, 1936, was referred to the City Auditor. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the Clerk was instructed to send a letter of thanks to the Native Daughters of the Golden West for the Bear Flag pre- sented for the Council Chamber and also thank them for the hospitality extended the City Council. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the Chair was authorized to appoint a committee to work with the Planning Commission with reference to rezoni~ North Broadway to Tenth Street for business. The Council as a whole were appointed as the committee. ~' motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of the Security Benefit Association for a permit to conduct a public dance at Third and Ross Streets, was granted on recommendation of the Police Commissioner and Chief. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to install a street light on West Orange Road at the end of the street in accordance ~ith the petition of property owners. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seoonded by Penn and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance in relation to and regulating the business of dealing in motor vehicles and providing penalties for the violation hereof" was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading.
