471 <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1030 <br /> <br />Regulating the Use <br /> <br />of Public Highways. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />ResotutionNo. 2470 <br /> <br />Declaring Weeds a <br /> <br />Nuisance. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Third Quarter <br /> <br />of Annual Budget. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Leave of Absence <br /> <br />of City Attorney. <br /> <br />the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce". <br /> <br />Trustees Penn and Layton were appointed as the committee from <br /> <br />the Council. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"An Ordinance of the City. of Santa Ana regulating the <br />use of Public Highways within said City" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1030 and <br /> <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees Ptummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. <br /> Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> <br />a Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />'~"A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> Ana determining and declaring that weeds which bear seeds <br /> of a wingy or downy nature and attain such a large growth <br /> as to become a fire menace when dry, and which are noxious <br /> and dangerous, are growing upon certain streets, sidewalks, <br /> and private property in said ~ity of Santa Ana and are a <br /> public nuisance; directing the Street Superintendent to <br /> post notices to destroy said weeds as required by law; <br /> fixing the time for hearing objections and protests, and <br /> directing the abatement thereof in accordance with an Act <br /> of the Legislature of the State of California entitled, <br /> "An Act Authorizing Municipalities to Declare Noxious or <br /> Dangerous Wee~s Growing upon the Streets or Sidewalks or <br /> upon Private Property within Municipalities to be a Public <br /> Nuisance, Creating a Lien u~on the Property Fronting upon <br /> such Streets or Sidewalks, or upon which such Nuisance <br /> Exists for the Cost of Abating the Same, Approved May 26, <br /> 1915", and Amendments thereto."" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2470 and <br /> <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes~ <br /> <br /> Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. <br /> Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C.
