Bruns, Joseph P. <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Hatheway. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Newport Harbor <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Walter Edward Cu!!en. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Electric S~_gns. <br /> <br />Street, was <br />Clerk as to <br /> <br /># <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br />.On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />application of the American Legion Auxiliary for permission <br />to solicit funds through the sale of poppies on the streets, <br />May 23, 1936, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />bulletin #11 of the League of California Municipalities with <br />reference to franchise problems was referred to the Attorney <br />for checking and observation to be referred back to the <br />Council for disposal. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, Seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> the communication of Harvey & Harvey with reference to city <br /> license and permit on his Used Car Market at 304 E. First <br /> <br /> referred to the City Attorney to confer with the <br /> the facts in the case and for disposition. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication from the Secretary of the Nev~ort Harbor <br />Chamber of Commerce relative to the action taken by its <br />Directors urging the opening of Flower Street between Santa <br />Aha and the Newport Boulevard, was received and filed and <br />the ~lerk was instructed to ackmowledge receipt of communica- <br />tion and inform the Secretary on the action of the Council <br />and the Planning Commission in the matter. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the <br />application of WalteF Edward Cullen for a permit to drive a <br />taxicab for the Courtesy Cab Company, was granted on recom- <br /> <br />mendation of the Taxicab <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, <br /> <br />Commission. <br /> <br />seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />the application of Electrical Contractors to hang electric <br />signs for the Majestic Ice Cream Company at 501 N. Main Stree <br />and for R.A. Tiernan Typewriter Company at ll0 W. Fourth <br />Street, were granted upon the approval of the Electric Inspec <br />tot and to be hung under his supervision. <br /> <br /> <br />
