G. Holman for permission to construct <br />an averting over his melon cooler and fruit display at 1425 N. <br />Main Street, was referred to the Fire Commissioner for <br />disposal. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution approving Second Amendment to the Loan and <br /> Grant Agreement between the City of Santa Ana, Orange <br /> County, Califon~ia, and the United States of America, <br /> and authorizing its execution." <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2474 and <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> kzes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. <br /> Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Trustees None. <br /> <br /> Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the monthly report of the Metropolitan Water District, was <br />referred to the City Auditor for checking. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, B. K. B~rnett <br />was ordered to remove the building located at 517 W. First <br />Street, as the building does not comply with Zoning Ordinance <br />No. 809, Section XVII. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of officials of the Alianza Hispano Americana <br />No. 108 for permission to conduct the Gutierez Show for <br />Mexicans in the ~200 block West Fifth Street, whereby they <br />receive 50% of the gross receipts to be used for needy Mexi- <br />cans, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief with <br />power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission that steps be <br />taken to remove the shacks on the north side of Santa Ana <br />Boulevard, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief <br />and the City Attorney and if Ordinance is being violated to <br />have buildings removed. <br /> <br />Messrs. William Wollaston and Harry Hayes appeared before <br />the C~uncil to protest ag&inst the Used Car Market being con- <br />ducted by Bascom Rush on a vacant lot on the west side in the <br />1000 block Bush Street. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded <br />by Layton and carried, the oral protests of residents on <br />Bush Street against the Used Car ~rket of Bascom Rush, were <br /> <br /> <br />
