Holman for permission to construct an averting over his melon cooler and fruit display at 1425 N. Main Street, was referred to the Fire Commissioner for disposal. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution approving Second Amendment to the Loan and Grant Agreement between the City of Santa Ana, Orange County, Califon~ia, and the United States of America, and authorizing its execution." was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2474 and passed by the following vote: kzes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Trustees None. Noes, Absent, Trustees None. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the monthly report of the Metropolitan Water District, was referred to the City Auditor for checking. ,, On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, B. K. B~rnett was ordered to remove the building located at 517 W. First Street, as the building does not comply with Zoning Ordinance No. 809, Section XVII. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of officials of the Alianza Hispano Americana No. 108 for permission to conduct the Gutierez Show for Mexicans in the ~200 block West Fifth Street, whereby they receive 50% of the gross receipts to be used for needy Mexi- cans, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief with power to act. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that steps be taken to remove the shacks on the north side of Santa Ana Boulevard, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief and the City Attorney and if Ordinance is being violated to have buildings removed. Messrs. William Wollaston and Harry Hayes appeared before the C~uncil to protest ag&inst the Used Car Market being con- ducted by Bascom Rush on a vacant lot on the west side in the 1000 block Bush Street. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the oral protests of residents on Bush Street against the Used Car ~rket of Bascom Rush, were
