Santa Aha City Hall. <br /> <br />~uly 6th, 1936. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, <br />further reading of the Minutes of June 15th, 1936, <br />was dispensed with on motion of Trustee Smith, <br />seconded by Penn and c~rried~ <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />City Hostess Project. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Boy Scouts of America. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />D. E. Hammond. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Warrant to <br /> <br />Company L Mess Fund. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />City of Santa Monica. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Applic at ion <br /> <br />0rland W. Palmer. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Rosella Enid Adair relative to the City <br />Hostess Project in Santa Aha, was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded hy Penn and carried, <br />the communication of the Boy Scouts of America expreseing <br />appreciation of Rotary Troop 24 for granting a permit for the <br />sale of fir~werks, was receivedand filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of D. E. Hammond expressing appreciation <br />of the Junior College for the use of Birch Park for their <br />commencement exercises on June 18th, and the cooperation <br />given by city officers, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />it was decided that the City of Santa Aha follow the custom <br />of previous years and donate the sum of $200.00 to Company <br />"L· Mess Fund during e,,mmer encampment at San Luis 0bispo. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of the Director of Recreation and Play- <br />ground Department of the City of Santa Monica relative to <br />their annual report for year 1935-36, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of 0rland W. Palmer for a permit to conduct <br />a produce stand on his property at 1622 W. First Street, was <br />referred to the Planning Commission and Sanitary Inspector <br />for investigation. <br /> <br />The application of 0rland W. Palmer was returned by the Plan- <br />ning Commission stating that it was not in their Jurisdiction <br />to grant permit for business in the residential zone and on <br />motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the <br />application of 0rland W. Palmer was denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
