Santa Aha City Hall. ~uly 6th, 1936. 7:30 P.M. The City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of June 15th, 1936, was dispensed with on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and c~rried~ In Re City Hostess Project. In Re Communication Boy Scouts of America. In Re Communication D. E. Hammond. In Re Warrant to Company L Mess Fund. In Re Communication City of Santa Monica. In Re Applic at ion 0rland W. Palmer. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the communication of Rosella Enid Adair relative to the City Hostess Project in Santa Aha, was received and filed. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded hy Penn and carried, the communication of the Boy Scouts of America expreseing appreciation of Rotary Troop 24 for granting a permit for the sale of fir~werks, was receivedand filed. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of D. E. Hammond expressing appreciation of the Junior College for the use of Birch Park for their commencement exercises on June 18th, and the cooperation given by city officers, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, it was decided that the City of Santa Aha follow the custom of previous years and donate the sum of $200.00 to Company "L· Mess Fund during e,,mmer encampment at San Luis 0bispo. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Director of Recreation and Play- ground Department of the City of Santa Monica relative to their annual report for year 1935-36, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of 0rland W. Palmer for a permit to conduct a produce stand on his property at 1622 W. First Street, was referred to the Planning Commission and Sanitary Inspector for investigation. The application of 0rland W. Palmer was returned by the Plan- ning Commission stating that it was not in their Jurisdiction to grant permit for business in the residential zone and on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of 0rland W. Palmer was denied.
