Council Chambers, Santa Ana City Hall. September 21st, 1936. ?:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees P!~mmer W, Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes o£ September Sth, 1936, was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith~an~ carried. In Re Application B. E. Hartpence. In Re Application H. J. Succop. In Re Meeting--Or. Co. League of Municipalities. In Re Communication Sol N. Gonzales. In Re Proposition #4 Prohibiting Tideland Drilling. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of B. E. Hartpence for a temporary permit to conduct his business of selling musical instruments and novelties at his residence, On motion of Trustee Bruns, 1079 W. Third Street, was granted seconded by Smith and carried, the application of H. J. Succop for a special permit to operate and conduct a fruit flavoring and extract manufactur- ing business at 2650 N. Main Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the property at 2650 N. Main Street was ordered posted for special uses and the joint hearing date set October 5th, 1936, in accordance with the application of H. J. Succop his business at said location. # On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- ties relative to the Monthly meeting to be held on Thursday, September 24th, 1936, at 6:30 P.M., in the Social Clubhouse, San Clemente, was received and filed and all officials urged to attend. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the communication of Sol N. Gonzales thahking the Council fo~ the courtesy and assistance in making the recent celebration of the Mexican Independence Day a splendid success, was ordered acknowledged, received and filed. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the communication of Wm. E. Colby, Chairman of the Commission in the Department of Natural Resources, relative to Proposi- tion No. & Prohibiting Tideland Drilling 20 be voted on at th~ November 3rd election, was received and filed.
