Council Chambers, <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />September 21st, 1936. <br /> <br />?:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees P!~mmer W, Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br />W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, <br />further reading of the Minutes o£ September Sth, 1936, <br />was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, <br />seconded by Smith~an~ carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Application <br /> <br /> B. E. Hartpence. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />H. J. Succop. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Meeting--Or. Co. <br /> <br />League of Municipalities. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Sol N. Gonzales. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Proposition #4 <br /> <br />Prohibiting Tideland Drilling. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of B. E. Hartpence for a temporary permit to <br />conduct his business of selling musical instruments and <br /> <br />novelties at his residence, <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, <br /> <br />1079 W. Third Street, was granted <br /> <br />seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the application of H. J. Succop for a special permit to <br />operate and conduct a fruit flavoring and extract manufactur- <br />ing business at 2650 N. Main Street, was referred to the <br />Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the property at <br />2650 N. Main Street was ordered posted for special uses and <br />the joint hearing date set October 5th, 1936, in accordance <br />with the application of H. J. Succop his business at said <br />location. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- <br />ties relative to the Monthly meeting to be held on Thursday, <br />September 24th, 1936, at 6:30 P.M., in the Social Clubhouse, <br />San Clemente, was received and filed and all officials urged <br /> <br />to attend. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee <br /> <br />Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the communication of Sol N. Gonzales thahking the Council fo~ <br />the courtesy and assistance in making the recent celebration <br />of the Mexican Independence Day a splendid success, was <br />ordered acknowledged, received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Wm. E. Colby, Chairman of the Commission <br />in the Department of Natural Resources, relative to Proposi- <br />tion No. & Prohibiting Tideland Drilling 20 be voted on at th~ <br />November 3rd election, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
