In Re Tract No. 1000. # On recommendation of the Taxicab Commission and on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the applica- tions of Gettie B. Carlisle, Walter G. Bozeman, Ernie E. Acker and Henry L. Hunton were granted permission to drive taxicabs. On recommendation of the Police Chief and Commissioner and on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, Cornish J. Roehm was appointed a special police officer for school crossings and S. D. Byrd was appointed a special police officer without pay. . On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the Mayor and Auditor ae Sponsor's Agent and Fiscal Officer were authorized to execute W. P. A. Project on Santiago Creel Park Improvement. . On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the Mayor and Auditor as Sponsor's A~ent and Fiscal Officer, were authorized to execute W. P. A. Project on concrete curbs concrete gutters and sidewalks in the City of Santa Ana. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the Resolutions pertaining to Traffic regulations were referred to the Finance Committee. . On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance amending Section 7 of Ordinance No. 962 entitled ' An Ordinance regulating and licensing the business of earrying passengers for hire in motor vehicles in the City of Santa Ana. '" was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1033 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Plummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Noes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the report of the City Auditor giving a comparative schedule and break-down of the 1935-36 tax rate, was 1936-37 tax rate as compared with the received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the report of Trustee Smith as chairman of the committee appointed, relative to installation charge~ of main and fire hydrants in Tract #1000 and monies deposited with the 0rang~ County Title Company by the subdividers, was accepted.
