On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the appllcati of Emma M. McCullough.to erect a mortuary at the sout~vest corner of Seventeenth and Sycamore Streets, was granted. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the application Of Ivie Stein, Chairman of the Retail Divisio of the Chamber of Commerce, for permission to install two cloth signs above the streets to advertise Santa Ana Dollar Day, February 13th, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief with power to act. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of Harry S. Pickard, Chairman of Citizens Commit- w~s granted tee,/for permission to sell tickets in Santa Ana for the Ninth Annual Military Ball, under the auspices of the Jack Fisher Chapter, Disable~American Veterans of the World War. . On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Evan Jones for a permit to conduct an auto camp on the following described property: Beginning at a point in the center line of Main Street, bearing South 0° 45' West 464.10 feet from the Northeast cor- ner of Section One (1), Township 5 South, Range l0 West, S.B.B. & M.; thence South 86° 44' West ~3.82 feet; thence South 33° 45~ East 74.85 feet; thence South 52° 04' 15" East 132.64 feet; thence South 55° 33' 20" East 26.36 feet; thence North 89° 45' East 173 feet to the center line of Main Street~ thence North 0° ~5~ East 177.60 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. was referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the property des- cribed above was ordered posted for special uses and the' hearing date set February 15th, 1937, in compliance, with the application of Evan Jones to conduct an auto camp. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Mrs. Margaret Carl to have the property at the southeast corner of First and Van Ness Avenue rezoned to permit the ~rection of an apartment house, was referred to ths Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, action on the application of MrsL Margaret Carl was deferred for two weeks, until plans are submitted covering construction of the pro- posed apartment house. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, Map Tract #1012 for the improvment of a portion of the Tiede property at Flower and Washington Avenue, was referred back to the Planning Commission.
