MacFarlane was appointed on the Examining Board of Electri- cians of theCity of Santa Ana. On motion of Trustee Penn, the application of Gilbert seconded by Smith and carried, F. Wagner for merchants patrol covering the territory west of the middle of Main Street to Patton Street And from the north side of Walnut to the south side of Sixth Street, was referred to the Police Commissioner Police Chief and City Attorney for investigation. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Brur~ and carried, the applications of August Morreel and Asa W. Keister for permits to drive taxicabs and the application of Gordon L. Wilson for a transfer of permit to drive taxicab, were granted on recommendation Of the Taxicab Commission. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the petition of property owners to have North Broadway between l§th and 17th Streets rezoned for apartment house district, was referred to the Planning Commission for re commendat ion. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of ~he Santa Ana Neon Company for a permit to hang an electric sign for ~. E. Jemison at 406 W. 4th Street was granted subject to the approval of the Electric Inspector and to be hung under his supervision. # No written or oral protests having been received, on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the appli- cation of Knox Bros. for a permit to conduct a Used Car Mar- ket at 211 E. First Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the applica- tion of Knox Bros. was granted to conduct a Used Car Market at 211 E. First Street. . No written or oral protests having been received, on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the applica- tion of 0. A. Brown, representative of Richfield Oil Company, for a permit to construct a service station at the southeast corner of Fourth and McClay Streets and the petition of resi- dents and property owners in the vicinity favoring the appli- cation, were referred to the Planning Commission. ?
