H. Betten. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Smith, secmnded by Penn and carried, the application <br />of 0. A. Brown was granted to construct a service station at <br />the southeast corner of Fourth and McClay Streets. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />No written or oral protests having been received, on motion <br />of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the applica- <br />tion of Geo. A. Demetriou for a permit to construct a duplex <br />at the southeast corner of Orange and Normandy, was referred <br />to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the apt <br />of Geo. A. Demetriou to construct a duplex was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the petition of property owners for the rezoning of North <br />Broadway between 17th and 19th Streets to first class apart- <br />ment house district, was referred back to the Planning Com- <br />mission to be considered with the petition presented to <br />North Broadway between 15th and 17th Streets. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, the property <br />on North Broadway between 15th and 19th Streets, excepting <br />the property fronting or abutting on 17th Street now zoned <br />for business or special use, was ordered posted for First <br />Class Apartment House District and the hearing date set <br />January 18th, 1937, in accordance with petitions of property <br /> <br />owne rs. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> <br />the application of the Powell Neon Sign Company for a permit <br /> oversize <br />to hang an/electric sign for Karl's Shoe Store at 207 E. ~th <br /> <br />Street, was denied. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the Resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Orange <br />County,~ appropriating $12,000.00 from the Motor Vehicle Fuel <br />Fund for assistance in Acquisition and Improvement Districts <br />No. 1, 3, 4 and 7, was received and the Clerk instructed to <br />acknowledge the appropriation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of D. H. Betten for apermit to operate a <br />merchants fire and patrol system in the business, industrial <br />and residential districts of the City, was referred to the <br />Police Commissioner, Police Chief and City Attorney. <br /> <br /> <br />
