Council C1,~mbers. Santa Ana City Hall. March 15th, 1957. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular sessi on. Meetln~ called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, E~nest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of March 1st, was dispensed with and the Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried. In Re Legislative Bulletin League of Cai.Municipalities. In Re Comm~nicatton ~hannon Funeral Home In Re Application of Jane E. Brown Estate. InRe Application Dr. John McAuley. In Re Application G. E. Tibbetts. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the legislative bulletin of the League of California Munici- palities requesting support of Bill HR4215 which would amend the National Banking Act to make it possible for Federal Reserve System Banks to pay interest on public deposits, was referred to the Chair to write a letter supporting said bill # On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Shannon Funeral Home acknowledging action of the City Council denying their application to con- duct a Funeral Home at the southwest corner of Seventeenth and Broadway, was received and filed. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Jane E. Brown Estate to remove present residence zone restriction from lot 40 x 100 feet, adjacent to the Gilmore 0il Company's service station at the inter- section of Santa Aha Boulevard and Chapman Avenue, was referred to the Planning Commission. 0n motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, no action was taken on the application of Jane E. Brown Estate until plans are filed by the Gilmore Oil Company covering the construction of proposed office building, as recommended by the Planning Commission. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the application of Dr. John McAuley for permission to estab- lish his office in rear of lot at 131@ N. Sycamore Street, was referred to the Plannim~ Commission for recommendation. . On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of G. E. Tibbetts to operate a Junk yard at 1752 W. Fifth Street in connection with a garage, was referre to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the applica- tion of G. E. Tibbetts was denied to conduct Junk yard.
