Trusty & Sons against the proposed clos- <br /> · lng of the alley between South Main and South Sycamore Street <br /> was referred to the committee previously appointed when <br /> cation was filed to have said alley closed. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> A protest was read signed by property owners and residents <br /> in the vicinity of Wilshire and Sycamore Street against the <br /> erection of a tabernacle at said location. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> the report of the c~nmittee was adopted favorin~ the applica- <br /> tion of Rev. S. T. Borg and Rev. R. Allan Anderson to erect <br /> a tabernacle at Wilshire and Sycamore Streets. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the Clerk was instructed to cash the check in amount of $100. <br /> submitted by Rev. Borg and Anderson and money to be held for <br /> ten days after the tabernacle is removed and if property is <br /> not properly cleaned, money is to be used for that purpose. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to enter into an agree- <br /> ment with the Home 0il Company to construct an electric sign <br /> at 319 S. Main Street, portion of which sign extends over and <br /> upon the five foot set-back line established on S. Main Stree <br /> . <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the warrant of the Southern Calif. Edison Co. Ltd. in amount <br /> of $2682.49 covering franchise tax for year ending December <br /> ~lst, 1936, was received and Clerk to deposit same. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Taxicab Commission and on motion of <br /> Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the application <br /> of Melvin Gilham to drive a taxicab for the Courtesy Cab <br /> Company, was granted. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />A petition signed by property owners along the south bank of <br />the Santiago Creek, was read, requesting an investigation be <br />made of Santiago Creek between Santa Ana Boulevard and Flower <br />Street and that steps be taken to remove the hazard of flood <br />damage. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and <br />carried, the petition was referred to the City Engineer and <br />Park Commissioner. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the agreement with the 0wl Drug Company permitting the inst~ <br />lation of a hot water storage tank under the sidewalk adja- <br />cent t~property occupied by them at the northwest corner of <br />Fourth and Main Streets, was accepted and filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
