In Re Ordinance Regulating Business of Carrying passengers for Hire in Motor Vehicles. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Electrical Contractors for permits to hang electrical signs were granted under supervision of the Electrical Inspector at the following locations: B. J. Eoster Bruno Almquist United Automo~ive Service Bartelson & Wilson Palm Hosiery Mill Stee~s Dress Shop 311 E. First St. 218 W. Fourth St. 102 S. Main St. 302 E. 5th St. 224 N. Broadway 223 W. Ath St. No w~itten or oral protests having been filed, on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the applicatio of Mrs. Margaret C. Carl for the rezoning of property at the southeast corner First and Van Ness Avenue to apartment house zone, was referred to the Planning Commission. The recommen- dation of the Planning Commission was read approving the change of zone and on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to pre- pare an ordinance to change the zone on property at the zoutheast corner of First and Van Ness Avenue from single family residence to apartment house district. . On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the Mayor and Clerk were instructed to enter into contract with Robbins-Henderson Ltd., to insure the main line of the Joint 0utfall Sewer for the sum of $300,000.00 and to insure the section of the sewer line now'being repaired for $25,000.00, subject to the approval of the other cities involved in the Joint 0utfall Sewer. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns $~d carried, the request of C. M. Featherly, Commander of American Legion Post 131, for the City to cooperate in the'traffic safety program and setting aside the 2~th or 25th day of March as Traffic Safety Day in Santa Ana, was granted. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the proposed ordinance regulating the construction of awnings in the City of Santa Ana was referred to a committee to be appointed by the Chair, to check over and submit recommenda- tion at the next meeting. Trustees Penn, Layton and ~ Building Inspector were appointed as the committee. # An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. @62 entitled "An Ordi- nance regulating and licensing the business of carrying passengers for hire in Motor Vehicles in the City of~ Santa Ana" came up for adoption. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, Section 25~ of the Ordinance was amended to read twelve hours instead of ten hours for a driM?~ t~ operate.any taxicab or motorbus, Ordinance was plac on ~e ~or eecon~ reading. d
