J. Eoster <br />Bruno Almquist <br />United Automo~ive Service <br />Bartelson & Wilson <br />Palm Hosiery Mill <br />Stee~s Dress Shop <br /> <br />311 E. First St. <br />218 W. Fourth St. <br />102 S. Main St. <br />302 E. 5th St. <br />224 N. Broadway <br />223 W. Ath St. <br /> <br /> No w~itten or oral protests having been filed, on motion of <br /> Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the applicatio <br /> of Mrs. Margaret C. Carl for the rezoning of property at the <br /> southeast corner First and Van Ness Avenue to apartment house <br /> zone, was referred to the Planning Commission. The recommen- <br /> dation of the Planning Commission was read approving the <br /> change of zone and on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by <br /> Layton and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to pre- <br /> pare an ordinance to change the zone on property at the <br /> zoutheast corner of First and Van Ness Avenue from single <br /> family residence to apartment house district. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />Mayor and Clerk were instructed to enter into contract with <br />Robbins-Henderson Ltd., to insure the main line of the Joint <br />0utfall Sewer for the sum of $300,000.00 and to insure the <br />section of the sewer line now'being repaired for $25,000.00, <br />subject to the approval of the other cities involved in the <br />Joint 0utfall Sewer. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns $~d carried, <br />the request of C. M. Featherly, Commander of American Legion <br />Post 131, for the City to cooperate in the'traffic safety <br />program and setting aside the 2~th or 25th day of March as <br />Traffic Safety Day in Santa Ana, was granted. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the proposed ordinance regulating the construction of awnings <br />in the City of Santa Ana was referred to a committee to be <br />appointed by the Chair, to check over and submit recommenda- <br />tion at the next meeting. Trustees Penn, Layton and ~ <br />Building Inspector were appointed as the committee. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. @62 entitled "An Ordi- <br />nance regulating and licensing the business of carrying <br />passengers for hire in Motor Vehicles in the City of~ Santa <br />Ana" came up for adoption. On motion of Trustee Bruns, <br />seconded by Layton and carried, Section 25~ of the Ordinance <br />was amended to read twelve hours instead of ten hours for a <br /> <br />driM?~ t~ operate.any taxicab or motorbus, Ordinance was plac <br />on ~e ~or eecon~ reading. <br /> <br />d <br /> <br /> <br />
