Woodward. protesting agains, t the proposed installation of parking <br />meters on city owned streets, were referred to the Council <br />as a whole. <br />. <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the City Council adjourned to Monday, March 14th, 193@, at <br />7:30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers. <br />APPROVED: Cindy ,Clerk. <br />Mayor of the City of Santa Ana. <br />Council Chambers <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br />March 9th, 1938. 3:00 P.M. <br />City Council met for a special meeting <br />for the purpose of discussing and determining <br />any and all matters which may come before said <br />Council appertaining to the emergency resulting <br />from the flood which occurred in the City of Santa <br />Aha and Orange County, and in particular any and <br />all matters appertaining to the repair or recon- <br />struction of the 0utfall Sewer Line of the City of <br />Santa Aha, or of the Joint Outfall Sewer Line <br />maintained by tD~ several cities in this County. <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br />Present: ~rustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br />N. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /># <br />In Re On motion of Trustee Brun's, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />Reso. No. 2557 the following Resolution was adopted: <br />Declaring Emergency Resolution No. 2557 <br />Joint 0utfall Sewer. Resolution Declaring Emergency <br />WHEREA~, on the second and third days of March, 1938, <br />a serious flood of the waters of the Santa Aha River passed <br />through the County of Orange and caused serious and great <br />damage to the 0utfall Sewer of the said City and to the <br />Joint 0utfall Sewer maintained by this City in connection <br />with several other cities and sanitary districts in this- <br />County, and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of this said damage there is danger <br />of epidemic and injury to the general health of the people <br />of this City, and of ~he ~urty, an~ immediate repairs ~o <br />said sewer line or'lines'are necessary th order to PreserV~ <br />the public peace, health and safety, and that public interest <br />and the necessity demands the immediate expenditure of <br />public money to safeguard life, health and property. <br /> <br /> <br />
