Haley urging widening of Hain <br /> Street and objecting to the State Hig~hway development east of <br /> Main Street and following the present railway tracks, was <br /> referred to the Traffic Safety Commission. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of Floyd W. Howard stating that he desires <br /> to accept the rank of sergeant on the Santa Ana Police Dept., <br /> and requesting a three months leave of absence with the pri- <br /> vilege of a three months extension at the expiration of the <br /> first three months, was referred to the Civil Service Commis- <br /> sion. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconSed by Yost and carried, <br /> the ap~!ication of Mitchell Slayman for a license to conduct <br /> a bowling alley business at ~I~ N. Sycs~more Street, was <br /> r~ferred to the Chief of Police and Public Safety Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by B~ns ~u8 carried, <br />the application of G. W. Williams, doing business aS the <br />Broadway Cab, for taxicab stands at four locations in the Ci~ <br /> <br />was referred back to the applicant requesting the necessary <br />and tenants <br />information in the existing Ordinance as to owners/of propert <br /> <br />in front of which taxicab stands are to be !ocsted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the applications of Watson M. Easterly and Lamar Hossler to <br />drive taxicabs for the White Cab Company, were granted as <br />recommended by the Taxicab Commission. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the application of the Teamsterls Union to solicit funds for <br />a benefit dance to be held in the near future, was referred <br />to the Standing Committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
