Kellogg Post, Veteran~ of Foreign Wars, for permission to sell Poppies on May 28th and 29th, 1944, was granted. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried, application of Henry C. Rurup to conduct a co~m~unity sales yard, one day a week, at 2418 West 5th St., was referred to a committee to report back at the next meeting. The Chair appointed Trustees Deckert and ~aan on this committee. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, the request of E. D. Wheeler, fireman, for permission to leave Santa Aha for Smith River on advice of his physician, from early in May until some time in December, was gra~nted. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, the application of the Powell Neon Sign Co. to hang a neon sign for Associated Ambulance Service, South Main St., was granted and sign ordered hung under the supervision of the Electrical Inspector. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the application of William H. Jackson, to driv, a taxicab for the Broadway Cab Co., was received and permit granted. . 0n motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the application of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1514 No.Broadway, to solicit funds, starting about May 10th, was received and permit granted. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, the Minutes of the Executive Board of the Joint Outfall Sewer, held at Anaheim on April 6th, 1944~ were received and filed. On motion of Trustee Dixon, secondedby Haan and carried, the monthly reports of the Building Inspector and of the City Judge, for the month of April, were received and filed. 0n motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the Clerk was authorized to draw warrants according to demands as audited by the Finance Committee numbering 1918 to 2lO1 inclusive.
