On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, communication from Geo.G.Boyd, Chief of Police, advising of appointment of Shelby L. Bryson, as patrolman, effective April 2Sth, 1944, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, communication from Geo.G.Boyd, Chief of Police, advising of resignation of Voris K. Robison, as patrolman, effective April lSth, 19~, was received and resignation accepted. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, the Clerk was authorized to proceed to open bids covering the construction of a frame building of approximately 2260 square feet area, at the Joint Outfall Sewer Plant. J. P. Rumar, in the amount of $6,A~7.00; Cashier's check in the amount of $6AA.O0, enclosed. John C. Blystone, in the amount of $8,V88.00; Cashier's check not enclosed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, the bids were referred to the Joint Outfall Sewer Board. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, agreement between the City of Santa Aha and the Pacific Electric Railway Co., relative abandonment of railroad from ~th St. Santa Ana to the City of Orange and abandon- ment of all electrical overhead from ~th St. Santa Ana to connection with Southern Pacific R.R. at Marlboro, and removal of switches and curves of abandoned railroad within the limits of ~th St., and repaying of street in manner satisfactory to the City, Was accepted and Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign this agreement. Oommunicatlon from Harold Yost, Secy. Santa Aha City Schools, was read relative to agreement between the City of Santa Aha and Santa Ana Board of Education on Community Recreation Program. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance Establishing a Recreation Department for the City of Sm taAna Under the Management of a Recreation Comission Consisting of Seven (7) M~abmrs; Prescribing the Manner of Appointment of the Members" was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1137 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Noes, Trustees Absent,Trustees W. Eugene Dixon, Otto R. Haan, Asa Hoffman. None W.J.Cheney Not Voting: Trustees Dale G. Deckert.
