DeRusso, to drive <br />a taxicab for the Broadway Cab Co., was denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and <br />carried, the applications of Calvin B. Hembru, Richard <br />J. Palmer, Helena Frances Kordek and Oscar Servant <br />Matthew, to drive taxicabs for the Broadway Cab Co., <br />were received and permits granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the application of the Rescue Army, Inc. 9405 So.San <br />Pedro St., Los Angeles, to solicit funds was referred to <br />the City Attorney to report back. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the application of the Powell Neon Sign Co. to <br />hang aneon sign for the Town House Cafe, lll East 1st <br />St., was granted and sign ~rdered hung under the super- <br />vision of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br /> <br />carried, the monthly reports of the Police Dept., <br />Juvenile Bureau and of the Poundmaster, for the month of <br /> <br />April, 1944, were received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication from the Santa Aha City Employees Assoc., <br />was read requesting information as to what action has <br />been taken to secure data relative to City employees <br />Joining the State of California retirement and pension <br />system and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by <br />Deckert and carried, the City Auditor was instructed to <br />attend the meeting of the Employee's Association on June <br />8th, 1944 to explain this matter. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />Communication was read from Secy-Treas. of Associated <br />Chambers of Commerce stating that Orange County is <br />inadequately posted as to directional and traffic signs <br />and suggesting that such signs be posted to assist in <br />directing the public and on motion of Trustee Haan, <br />seconded by Cheney and carried, the matter was referred <br />to the Supt. of Streets to report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br /> <br />carried, house mover's bond of Joseph B. Collings and <br />Charles A. Pearson, co-partners, doing business as <br /> <br />Anaheim Truck & Transfer Co., in the <br />written by the National Surety Corp., <br /> <br />amount of $1,000.00, <br />was approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
