Traffic Safety Commission and a Traffic Safety Patrol in the City of Santa Aha and Prescribing Rules and Regulations Therefor. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Haan and carried, the City Council adjourned. ~ City Clerk City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. Present: Trustees Dale G. Deckert, Wo Eugene Dixon, W. J. Cheney, Asa Hoffman. Absent: Trustees Otto R. Haan. The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of May 18th, 1944, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and carried. Council Chambers Santa Ana City Hall June 8th, 1944. 7:30 In Re Protest of Pac. Elect. Ry. Co. In Re Applications Taxi & Bus Drivers. In Re Application to Solicit Funds A communication was read from the Pacific Electric Ry. Co. protesting against practice of unlicensed parties operating a limousine service upon Pacific Electric property. Mr. Duke of the Pacific Elect~,~e ]~$,. Co. appeared before the Board and suggested that Taxicab Ordinance be amended to take care of this situation. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was referred to Attorney for study with instructions to amend Taxicab Ordinance to prohibit soliciting of business by unlicensed carriers. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, application of Floyd R. Spangler to drive a taxicab for the Broadway Cab Co. and application of Raymond Herman to drive a bus for the Santa Ana Bus Service, were received and permits granted. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, the application of the Rescue Army, Inc. 9408 So. San Pedro St., Los Angel~ s, to solicit funds was granted for a period not to exceed sixty days from date.
