Main St., was granted and sign ordered hung under <br /> the supervision of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, the applications of Carl C. Brown and Newton <br /> Royce Shoemaker, to drive buses for the Santa Ana Bus <br /> Co., were received and permits granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, the application of Leslie A. Doyle to drive a <br /> bus for the Santa Ana Bus Co. was received and permit <br /> denied. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and <br /> carried, the monthly reports of the Poundmaster, Juvenile <br /> Bureau and of the Police Department, for the month of <br /> May, 1944, were received and filed. <br /> <br /> A petition was read,signed by 222 Cit~ Employees request- <br /> ing the Council to place on an election ballot; a prop- <br /> osition enabling the City of Santa Ana to Join ~n the <br /> State Employees' Retirement System. <br /> <br />Messrs. C.W.Wolford and C.A.McCullough, representing the <br />Santa Ana City Employees Association appeared before the <br />Council relative to said petition. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br />the City Clerk was instructed to request the Board of <br />Administration under the State Employees Retirement <br /> <br /> <br />
