499 City Council met in regular adjourned session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. Present: Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, Otto R. Haan, W. Jo Cheney, Asa Hoffman. Absent: Trustees None. In Re Ordinance No. 1142 Tax Rate 1944-45. Co~mcil Chambers Santa Ana City Hall. September 8th, 1944. 3:00 P.M. In Re Public Sale Lot 31, Tract No. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and car- tied, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance of the C~y of Santa Ana, California, fixing the amount of money ascertained to carry on the various departments of the City of Santa Ana, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for the current year 1944-1945, and fixing the rate of taxation for the curre.:t year 1944-1945, designating the number of cents on each ~lO0.O0 for the various funds of sa~d City, on the whole of the taxable property of said City as set by the County Assessor of the County of Orange, State of California, and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of said County, and hereby levied on the whole of the taxable pro- perty of said City." w~s read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1142 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, Otto R. Haan, W. J. Cheney, Asa Hoffman. Noes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and car- tied, the City Clerk was instructed to advise Don S. 758. Mozley, County Tax Collector, that the City consents to the sale at public auction of Lot 31 in Tract No. 788, located in the City of Santa Ana. In Re Bid Accepted of Long Beach Iron Works. On recommendation of the committee appointed and on of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the bid of the Long Beach Iron Works for the f~rnishing and installing of four ~eat exchanger coil units at the Joint Outfall Sewage Treatment Plant, in the amount of $~820.00 was accepted as the lowest bid and the Clerk instructed to return the check of the unsuccessful bidder. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and car- ried, the City Council adjourned.
