500 <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, <br /> Otto R. Haan, W.J. Cheney, Asa Hoffman. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each <br />member of the City Council having received copies of the <br />Minutes of September §th and 8th, 194A, further reading <br />of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion <br />of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Deckert and carried. <br /> <br />Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />September 18th, 1944. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Boy Scouts of America. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Com~nunication <br /> <br />Jr. Cham. of Commerce. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Meetin$ for <br /> <br />Post War Planning. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Electric Sign. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Benefit Dance <br /> <br />Lady of Gua~alupe Church. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Taxicab <br /> <br />Application. <br /> <br />7:50 P.M. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the communication of R. C. Canpbell, Ass,t. Scout Execu- <br />tive, expressing appreciation for the use of the City <br />Council Chambers on the night of September llth, was <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Communication from the Santa Ana Junior Chamber of Commerce <br />was read, advising t~at their organization was in full <br />accord and agreement with the resolution presented by the <br />Citizens' Charter Fact Finding Committee on the proposed <br />City Charter for the City of Santa Ans. On motion of <br />Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the commu- <br />nication was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and car- <br />ried, the Mayor was authorized to concede to the request <br />of the Planning Commission to hold Joint meetings of the <br />various public bodies in Ssnta Ana together wi th the Orange <br />County Planning Commission to discuss Post War Planning. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and car- <br />ried, the application of the Powell Neon Sign Company to <br />hang an electric sign for Dr. Herman Bassler's Rest Home <br />at lO18 N. Broadway, back of the property line, was granted <br />under supervision of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, <br />the application of Rev. J. N. Santiago to hold a public <br />dance at the V.F.W. Hall, on the night of October 6th, for <br />the benefit of the Lady of Guadalupe Church, was granted <br />providing approval is secured from the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and car- <br />ried, the application of Paul Musch to dr~ve a taxicab for <br />the Broadway Cab Company, was granted and license ordered <br />issued. <br /> <br /> <br />
