<br />Recommendation of the Planning Commission to amend Zoning
<br />Ordinance to reclassify approximately 250 feet of frontage on the
<br />south side of First Street between Bristol and Baker Streets,
<br />from R-2 to C-2 District, in accordance with application of Harol~
<br />H. Greenwald, was read and on motion of Trustee Chandler,
<br />seconded by Cheney and carried, Clerk was instructed to publish
<br />a notice of hearing ten days prior to City Council meeting to be
<br />held February 18th, 1948, relative to rezoning said property.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />communication of the Planning Commission granting variance
<br />permitting service station at northwest corner First Street and
<br />Sullivan, in accordance with application of James Hentges, was
<br />approved.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />communication of the Planning Commission granting var~nce permit
<br />ing a duplex on each of two lots at the southwest corner of 16th
<br />and Spurgeon Streets, in accordance with application of Ruth E.an
<br /> Helen Eisele, was approved.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />communication of the Planning Commission granting variance
<br />permitting a refrigerator sales and service business at~270B West
<br />First Street, in accordance with application of Albert Bbuning,
<br />was approved.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />Council was authorized to communicate with Governor Warren reques
<br />ing particulars and reasons for installation of traffic signals
<br />by the State Highway Department at certain intersections which
<br />were not requested or desired by the City.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the following Resolution entitled:
<br />"Resolution of the City Council of the City
<br /> of Santa Aha approving memorandum of agree-
<br /> ment for expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax
<br /> allocated for State Highways"
<br /> for the fiscal year 1948, was read, considered, designated
<br /> Resolution No. 3632 and passed by the following vote:
<br /> Ayes, Trustees W.J. Cheney. Courtney R. Chandler,
<br /> Virgil H. ~eed, R. Carson Smith.

<br />eliminating loading zone on the south s~de of 8th St. between
<br />Main and Syoamore Sts.., located as follows: the easterly 20 fee~
<br />of the westerly 223 feet, and establishing a loading zone on
<br />8th St. between Main and Syc~ore Sts., located as follows; the
<br />easterly 28 feet of westerly 188 feet, was read, considered,
