DeLoge and Marlyn D. Reed to drive <br /> <br /> taxicabs, were granted and permits ordered issued. <br />,, <br /> <br />Request was read from T.D.MacBird, Architect, for a driveway to <br />car wash area in connection with service station to be constructe( <br />on ~the southeast corner of Berkeley and Main Streets. On motion <br />of ~Trustee Reed, s~conded by Chandler and carried, request was <br />referred to City Engineer to report back at next meeting. <br /> <br />Request was read from Richfield Oil Co. to construct two approach~ <br />to proposed service station on the Main Street f~ontage on the <br />northeast corner of Main and Delhi Road and to delay installation <br />of Delhi Road approach until such time as City's work is complete~ <br />and on motion of T~ustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, <br />requests were granted. <br /> <br />A petition was rea~ signed by twenty-one property owners and <br />residents in the vicinity of the Temescal Cafe, 903 E. 4th St., <br />protesting loud, boisterous band music and Juke boxes which are <br />operated at unreasonable hours. Mrs. Dula Upchurch, 901~ E. 4th <br />St. appeared before the Bo~d s~ating her objections to the noise <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />petition was received, filed and Chief of Police instructed to <br />investigate and enforce Nuisance Ordinance. <br /> <br />Communication was read from City Eo~tneer stating that casing in <br />No. ll well has broken in two and that cost of repairing same <br />would be approximately $4000.00 and if new casing is required, an <br />additional $1000.00 would be required. On motion of Trustee <br />Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, City Engineer was author- <br />ized to have No. ll well repai~ed rather than insball new well. <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carrie% the <br />Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids coveri~ng repairs to <br />casing in No. ll well. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, Mayo~ <br />Pro-Tem and Clerk were authorized to execute lease between City <br />and American Red Cross for certain space in the building at ll0~ <br />W. 8th St., being the east wing of the first floor consisting of <br />Rooms Nos. 102 to ll8, inclusive, for a period of two and one-hal~ <br />~ears, at a rental of $2~0.00 per month. <br />This being the date set for hea~ing of protests and no oral or <br /> by J.E.Prentice <br />written protests were received,to annex the area deeded/to the <br /> <br />City for park purposes, together with the south half of E.
