<br />Recommendation of the committee was read reference installation
<br />
<br />of street lights on Anahurst Place at Olive, Lowell and Towner
<br />Streets; on St. Gertrude Place at Olive, Lowell and Towner Streets~
<br />on Glenwood Place at Olive, Lowell and Towner Streets; on
<br />
<br />St. Andrews Place at Lowell and Towner; and on Towner Street at
<br />Carlton Place and Camden Place. On motion of Trustee Reed, secondld
<br />by Chandler and carried, recommendation was approved and Engineer
<br />instructed to install lights.

<br />An opinion was read from the City Attorney reference compensation
<br />and te~ms of the Trustees. On motion of Trustee Chandler,
<br />seconded by Reed and carried, Chairman was instructed to appoint
<br />a committee to secure information concerning a Commission form of

<br />On recommendation of the committee, and on motion of Trustee
<br />Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the bid of S.S.Zarubica,
<br />in the amount of $37,974.;~0, was accepted for the construction of
<br />a storm sewer on Rousselle Street from Delhi Road to North line of
<br />Tract No. 560.

<br />On recommendation of the committee, and on motion of Trustee
<br />Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the bid of Artukovich
<br />Bros., Inc., in the amount of $113,235.50, was accepted for the
<br />construction of a storm sewer on South Flower, Edinger and Towner
<br />Sts., between St. Andrew, s Place and Fairview Avenue.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, a
<br />committee of Trustee Cheney and City Engineer were appointed to
<br />investigate need of loading zones at Grand Central Market and
<br />
<br />APPROVED:

<br />possibility of parallel parking on Broadway from First to Eighth
<br />Streets.

<br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />resignation of R. Carson Smith, as Councilman and Mayor of the

<br />City of Santa Ana, was received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the City Council adjourned to Tuesday, August 16th, 1949, at 5:00
<br />P.M., in the Council Chambers.
